Miradas Profundas - Opening Event!

Gallery Lucid welcomes you to experience the haunting, sweet, and brazen work of three local artists whose work begs a double-take. The subjects of Juan Carlos Amorrortu, Kalee M Espitia Art and Juan Villegas watch you just as profoundly as you watch them.

The show runs October 20th through November 10th, with Opening Reception on October 20th from 6pm to 9pm. This exhibition is intentionally placed during the month in which the veil is thinnest. Artists will be in attendance for the opening event--and you'll want to meet them. If the gazes from the canvas were not enough to entrance, the stories behind many of them are moving, funny, or even heartbreaking!

The event will feature a live music performance by upright bassist Adam Koch.

The night will be replete with refremshments, with beer from local brewery and restaurant Black Star Coop, and iced coffee and treats by Fat Cats Organic Coffee & Desserts (a perfect little cafe serving up the curators' favorite ice cream and gluten-free treats!).

This is a FREE event, and a portion of the proceeds go to Mobile Loaves & Fishes, a remarkable organization with more than 19,000 volunteers working to feed the homeless and the hungry in Austin.
